Brothers Matthew Ford and Timothy Goode
"In the service of God..." Brothers Matthew Ford and Timothy Goode had a wonderful opportunity to live out that crucial part our creed in the summer of 2000, as the two participated on a two month long mission trip to Almaty, Kazakhstan.  They spent time on college campuses ministering and teaching English to students as a part of a team consisting of students from UWA, Univ. of South Alabama, and Troy St. Univ.  Other brothers also have participated in similar projects, Jonathan Goode ('99) to Thailand in '98 and Lee Stuart ('97) & Joseph Schell ('99) to Kazakhstan in '99.  Goode and Ford had to raise financial support in order to go.  Both were able to raise over $4500 each.  Brother Goode reflects on the experience, "It was truly an opportunity of a lifetime, to experience a whole other culture and to see how God can work through His children to accomplish his purposes."  Matthew Ford also cites the summer as life-changing, "Befriending Kazak and Russian students, sharing my life with them, seeing the world through a different view - theirs -- my view of the world, as well as my love for people, has definitely grown.  It's just amazing - the way God brought me 12,000 miles from my home to show me his plan for me as well as the world."
